Program Description

Location ________________

• Located in Tuscania on the border of the Tuscany and Lazio regions of central Italy
• Over 8,000 residents
• Known throughout history for its picturesque setting, dreamy landscapes, medieval walls, cobbled streets, and fine foods
• An hour and a half train ride from Rome
• 3 hour train ride to Florence
• Less than one hour to Lake Bolsena by bus
• Campus is a 5-10 minute walk from apartments in which you live




Academics _______________

• Many general education and major-specific courses are available
• Students may earn up to 15 credit hours
• Mandatory Italian language class at the appropriate level
• No previous knowledge of Italian is required
• Special courses are offered in Italian language, archaeology and classical studies, and culinary and nutritional arts

Prerequisites _______________

• Open to all majors and minors
• Open to undergraduate students only
• Need an ISU cumulative GPA of a 2.8 or higher
• Cumulative GPA between 2.5-2.79 may be eligible (Please meet with a Study Abroad Advisor for more information)
• Need to have attended two full semesters at ISU or other college/university



Housing & Meals _______________

• Students live in apartment style housing with other students from the United States
 Homestay options (living with a host family) are also available
• Self-catered (student prepares own meals) housing is arranged by LdM staff
• Students are given meal vouchers for local restaurants
• Three grocery stores are located within 10 minutes (walking distance) from the city center

• Free Friday field trips with the school
• Optional field trips with other LdM campuses (Rome, Venice, Florence) may be offered on the weekends
• Free Wi-Fi on campus
• Shopping in Viterbo (large city) is only a 20 minute bus ride away
• Opportunities to visit local farms and wineries surrounding Tuscania
